Whether it is your first pool or looking to convert to a saltwater pool, we realize you might have some questions for us. We gathered some answers to the most frequently asked questions. We are also always available to answer your questions, please do not hesitate to call us.

  • Do you provide pool opening and pool closing services?
Yes, you can count on us to properly open and close your pool to protect your investment.
  • What type of pools do we build?
    We install in-ground vinyl-lined pools.
  • What contains the water?
The vinyl membrane that acts as the container to hold or contain the water.
  • Do you give a warrantee with the pools you build?
Yes, each pool installed by Creative Pools & Spas comes with a lifetime warrantee.
  • Can you build any shape of pool I want?
Yes, this really helps when dealing with smaller backyards, or bragging rights to a great looking pool you helped design. We can also create any depth. Constant Depth pools are more and more popular, typically 5' in the deep end to 3'6" in the shallow end. This type of pool gives you much more area for play.
  • Do you install salt water pools?
Yes, the water in a saltwater pool is saline, it's actually nothing like swimming in the ocean. The salt concentration in the pool tops out at about 2800 to 4000 parts per million, compared to 50,000 parts per million in ocean water. Saltwater pools are less salty than tears (you usually can't even taste the salt) but the soft, luxurious feel of the water, not to mention freedom from the burning feeling of too much chlorine, is immediately noticeable. Salt chlorine generators come standard with our pool kits.
  • How does a salt chlorinator work to keep the pool sanitized?
The chlorinator uses electrolysis to break down the salt (NaCl) and release the chlorine into the water. The main advantage of this is that the main chemical added to the pool is salt which is harmless compared to the usual bleaching agents like chlorine. As such, a saltwater pool is not actually chlorine-free; it simply utilizes a chlorine generator instead of direct addition of chlorine.
  • Do you offer landscaping services?
Yes, we offer a complete start to finish service. Our landscaping is what wins us Awards year after year. Everything from preparing a detailed, to scale CAD drawing, to picking colors for the patio. We also prepare your gardens with lush vegetation and build breathtaking waterfalls. We will build you the backyard of your dreams.
  • How much access do you need to build the pool?
Standard access is 8'2", however there is a smaller machine that could dig the pool 6'2" which takes longer to dig and costs a little bit more, usually $1200 more.
  • Who applies for the pool permit?
We will apply for the pool permit, however the cost of the pool permit will be at the homeowners expense.
  • Are there any other costs incurred to get the pool permit?
Yes, you will be required to give the town a bond for which they hold until the project is complete. The bond varies in cost depending on which town or city you live in. This bond assures the town you will comply with all town and city by-laws and codes.
  • Do you update and renovate existing pools?
Absolutely, everything from converting to salt water, to complete redesign and construction, new liners, plumbing, heaters, pumps, lights, stairs, depth, filters, coping, skimmers, main drains, grounding, removing concrete, and much more.
  • How do you heat your pools?
Going Green has never been more popular. Typically we will use gas heaters, but for those who are looking to help the environment and save energy and money we have found using gas and solar heating systems combined make the perfect combination for efficient pool heating. Combining the quick demand heating capabilities of a gas pool heater with the considerable energy savings offered by a solar heating system is a very efficient and cost effective way to heat your pool.
  • How long does it take to build a pool?
The pool itself only takes 5-7 days to build. The landscaping on the other hand may vary. it depends on how elaborate the landscaping is. Typical projects take about 5 weeks from start to finish.
